Judy’s “Oz” Dress to Go For $500,000?

It’s ironic that the dress Judy Garland wore in the “Wizard of Oz” is expected to sell in the $500,000 range when the actress, herself, was perennially broke most of her adult life. The blue gingham pinafore with puffy white sleeves that Judy wore 75-years ago will be offered by Julien’s Auctions in Beverly Hills, Nov.9 and 10.Judy was 16 when she made the movie. As was the custom, several versions of the dress were made, but Julien’s says this is the only one actually worn throughout the production, and the only complete original gingham dress from the production to survive.
